Crescendo Community Chorus

We are a non-audition, adult, SATB community chorus in the Twin Cities that welcomes all who seek to have fun singing, performing, and socializing together. We sing choral pieces from diverse periods and cultures.

Singing with us can fit into a busy life.

2024–25 Season

Fall

Concert: Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024, 7:30 pm, Normandale Lutheran Church. If you couldn’t attend in person, you can watch a video.
Music: Misa a Buenos Aires (Misatango), by Martin Palmieri. Scored for chorus, bandoneon, strings and piano, this daring work juxtaposes ancient latin texts with the harmonies, syncopated rhythms and sensuality of Argentinian Tango.  See why performers and audience members are so taken by Palmeri’s creation.

Winter

Concert: Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025, 7:30 pm, Calvary Christian Reformed Church
Rehearsals: Tuesdays Jan. 7–Feb. 25
Music:  A Vision Unfolding, by Kyle Pederson. Minnesota composer Kyle Pederson combines elements of gospel, jazz, classical, and pop in this piece.  Centered around themes of social justice, this extended work invites the choir, dancers and audience into a compelling vision of a world rooted in compassion, freedom, inclusivity, and justice.
We are thrilled to be collaborating with the innovative and award winning choreographer Darrius Strong and his extraordinary company of dancers, STRONGmovement, for what promises to be a transformative evening.

Spring

Concert: Thursday, May 15, 2025, 7:30 pm, DeLasalle High School
Rehearsals: Tuesdays March 25–May 13
Theme: A Celebration of the Mississippi River, in partnership with the Friends of the Mississippi River. Current plans are to present a carefully curated multi-media event of choral music, readings and video projections, focusing on the history, conservation and enjoyment of this beloved resource.
Music will include choral works, ranging from old favorites to exciting new pieces, and a world premiere by Minneapolis composer, Charles Betz.
